Saturday 21st February, Wern Ddu shoot

Now confirmed.  While the range is pretty sheltered it can get cold and a bit muddy, so suitable clothing and wellies might be a good idea.   [ https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2647723 ] Parking is limited, so it might be another good idea (I’m full of them today) to share transport if possible.  Remember if you have an un-moderated fullbore rifle, you must use one of the two firing points with a barrel in front to reduce the noise.

The entrance is shown on Google maps as “Wern Ddu Quarry,” and it’s on the right on the A494 about 8.3 miles south of Ruthin.

There is a large motorcycle scrambling area, so watch out for bikes!  The route to the range is shown below – up a fairly steep path. Note that there is a one-way system for entry and exit to the site – I’ve shown the “IN” route.
