DESCRIPTION:BOOKINGS NOW CLOSED \nAltcar has just granted this date on ‘I’ range.  The feedback from the shoot on 15th March was VERY positive – the facilities are far in excess of anything we might have dreamed about at Sealand. \nHowever\, we need sufficient people to book this and the other early shoots ay Altcar\, as – like with Sealand – we need at least seven people to run\, but that’s the absolute minimum. \nWe’ve sent you a link to a form with all the information needed to shoot there on that date. This must be with us at least five days before the shoot date\, with all the information completed.  There’s also a link from the ALTCAR posting on this website. \nNB: It’s advisable to arrive at 11:00 to ensure you get everything sorted out before shooting starts.  You may (or may not) be asked for photo ID at the gatehouse\, it’s still unclear\, so it might be as well to have something ready.

SUMMARY:SATURDAY 17th January - Wern Ddu shoot
DESCRIPTION:This will be our first fullbore shoot of 2026 and our very first at the private Wern Ddu 100 yard range. It will also be from 10:00 to 15:30. \nIt’s about 30 miles from Sealand on the A494\, to the South-West of Ruthin. Hamper. Electrode. finalists  are the “What Three Words” needed to identify the entrance to the range. \nThe full address is: “‘Wern Ddu Quarry\, Gwyddelwern\, Corwen\, Denbighshire\, North Wales\, LL21 9DU.” \nIt’s important that you let us know beforehand that you will be coming so that we make the necessary arrangements – parking is apparently a bit restrictive\, but I’m sure we’ll manage. \nNote that if you haven’t got a sound moderator on your fullbore rifle you will have to shoot through a “tyre tunnel.” \nThere are no restrictions on calibre or type of  (legal !) firearm you can use here so 6.5 is welcome\, as are black powder pistols\, shotguns etc. \nThere are NO target supports/frames\, so you will need to bring a large cardboard box to stick targets on\, or a couple of garden canes or similar\, with wire or string between them to clip targets onto.

DESCRIPTION:We are more than a little disapointed and annoyed about this\, as I know you are\, but It seems that the MoD have a better form of weather forecasting than the rest of the world\, so they know that there will be flooding at Sealand in two weeks time. \nI am typing this at 11:30 on Friday 24th November – the day that we would have been shooting there – but we KNOW that there are no floods at Sealand today. \nWe are not the only ones to be cancelled\, and we have taken the matter up with Landmarc who run the ranges for the MoD\, and who will be losing money due to these cancellations. \nExactly what the truth is\, I have no idea.  We have also asked the NRA if they can help. \n  \n
